El Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection es una de las primeras bibliotecas en el mundo centrada alrededor de Estudios de América Latina. En colaboración con el Instituto Teresa Lozano Long de Estudios Latinoamericanos ( LLILAS ), la Colección Benson es un destino habitual para visitantes de todo el mundo. Fundada en 1926 y nombrada, en 1975, en honor a su director de tres décadas, la biblioteca se destaca en las disciplinas de humanidades y ciencias sociales, además cuenta con una gran variedad de literatura científica y profesional publicada en América Latina.
The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection is one of the premier libraries in the world focused on Latin America and Latin Studies. In partnership with the Teresa Lozano Long Institute for Latin American Studies (LLILAS), the Benson Collection is a regular destination for visitors from throughout the world. Founded in 1926 and named, in 1975, to honor its director of three decades, the library excels in humanities and social sciences disciplines, in addition to an array of scientific and professional literature published in Latin America.

Producto de un amplio esfuerzo colaborativo internacional, estos documentos digitalizados del Archivo Histórico de la Policía Nacional de Guatemala (AHPN) tienen como objetivo facilitar la investigación académica y legal usando como fuente una enorme colección de documentos históricos.
El descubrimiento del Archivo de la Policía Nacional en el año 2005 abrió al mundo un recurso muy amplio para el estudio de la historia de Guatemala, y de los derechos humanos en la región. Los documentos abarcan un espectro muy amplio de temas que van desde el conflicto armado interno en Guatemala entre 1960 y 1996 hasta los experimentos con enfermedades de transmisión sexual patrocinados por el gobierno de Estados Unidos en la década de los 1940s.
El sitio contiene mas de 10 millones de imágenes escaneadas de documentos del Archivo Histórico de la Policía Nacional y que refleja el exteno archivo físico preservado en Guatemala y representa un importante recurso que puede ser consultado en línea.

A product of broad international collaboration, these digitized documents from the Guatemalan National Police Historical Archive (AHPN) aim to facilitate scholarly and legal research into a vast cache of historical documentation.
The discovery of the National Police Historical Archive in 2005 opened an extensive and timely resource for the study of Guatemalan history and human rights in the region, spanning a broad array of topics from Guatemala's armed conflict between 1960 and 1996 to the sexually transmitted disease experiments performed at the behest of the United States government in the 1940s. This site currently includes over 10 million scanned images of documents from the National Police Historical Archive.
This digital archive mirrors and extends the physical archive that remains preserved in Guatemala as an important historical patrimony of the Guatemalan people.

El Centro Latinoamericano de la Red de Información (LANIC) es un portal gratuito de Internet de estudios latinoamericanos. Está afiliado al Instituto Lozano Long de Estudios Latinoamericanos (LLILAS) de la Universidad de Texas en Austin.
La misión de LANIC es facilitar el acceso a la información a través de Internet hacia, desde o en América Latina. El sitio proporciona investigación y recursos académicos, así como una fuente de noticias, arte, música y recetas de ésta región. El sitio actualmente cuenta con un promedio de más de 5,4 millones de visitas al mes y contiene páginas para 41 países y 81 sujetos.
The Latin American Information Network ( LANIC ) is a free web portal in Latin American studies. It is affiliated with the Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies ( LLILAS ) of the University of Texas at Austin .
LANIC 's mission is to facilitate access to information through the Internet to, from or Latin America . The site provides research and academic resources as well as a source of news, art, music and recipes from this region. They averaged over 5.4 million visits per month, and the site currently contains pages for 41 countries and 81 subjects .
El servidor Gopher de LANIC, lanzado en 1992, fue el primer servicio de información para América Latina en Internet, y el sitio Web LANIC ha estado en servicio continuo desde 1994.

La información se encuentra en inglés, español y portugués. El contenido puede ser 'navegado' por temas (historia, educación, ciencia, etc.) o por país.
El sitio alberga contenido digital sobre América Latina a través de su colección Etext, incluyendo miles de libros de texto completo, revistas, discursos y artículos de investigación. Esto incluye el texto completo de más de 2.000 discursos de Fidel Castro; más de 75.000 páginas de mensajes presidenciales de Argentina y México; y cientos de documentos sobre temas latinoamericanos presentados en conferencias en todo el mundo.

LANIC’s gopher server, launched in 1992, was the first such information service for Latin America on the Internet, and the LANIC website has been in continuous service since 1994.
An electoral observatory feature was added in 1998 to provide information on presidential and legislative elections taking place in Latin America. The pages for each country are divided into five sections: Electoral Coverage, Electoral Resources, News, Parties and Candidates, and Results.
In the spring of 2008, LANIC launched a major redesign to increase accessibility. Previous versions of the site, going back more than a decade, can be viewed by visiting LANIC via the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.
In 2009 Political Parties and Drug Production, Trafficking and Consumption were added as new subjects.
In 2010 the LANIC newsroom developed a list of sources for news and reports following the earthquake in Haiti, as well as links to donate to the relief effort.
LANIC’s editorially-reviewed directories contain over 12,000 unique URLs, one of the largest guides for Latin American studies content on the Internet. Information can be found in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Content can be browsed by subject (history, education, science, etc.) or by country.
The site hosts digital content on Latin America through its Etext Collection, including thousands of full text books, journals, speeches, and research papers. Included are the full text of over 2,000 speeches by Fidel Castro; over 75,000 pages of Presidential Messages from Argentina and Mexico; and hundreds of papers on Latin American topics presented at conferences around the world.
LANIC also maintains an active program in Web archiving including an extensive collection of the Latin American Government Documents Archive LAGDA.
